OU Softball Walks Off Liberty To End Day 1 Of Mark Campbell Invitational
OU Softball Walks Off Liberty To End Day 1 Of Mark Campbell Invitational
Oklahoma Softball went 2-0 on the first day of the Mark Campbell Invitational, with Jordy Bahl making big plays in wins over Duke and Liberty.
The first day of the Oklahoma Softball season at the Mark Campbell Invitational may be exactly what Sooners coach Patty Gasso wanted: a challenge.
The first game against a ranked Duke team was a 4-0 win where star pitcher Jordy Bahl struck out eight batters in a 7-inning shutout.
But it was the second game against Liberty that proved the most difficult for No. 1-ranked team in the country, and the back-to-back defending champions, to start the season.

Coming off a historically great offensive campaign, but also adjusting without Jocelyn Alo, the Sooners didn’t score their first run of the second game until the eighth inning.
But it was the only run of the game and the one that ended it. Alyssa Brito reached base on an error that allowed Bahl to score the winning run.

Jordy Bahl Has Sensational Day For Oklahoma Softball
Bahl was one of the best pitchers in the country as a freshman, but she is more than just a hurler. The sophomore began crafting a National Player of the Year case on Day 1 of the 2023 NCAA softball season with her performance in the circle and at the plate.
Bahl not only allowed just four hits with one walk in a 7-inning shutout, but she also had an RBI double against Duke and later scored a run on the first day of the season and Mark Campbell Invitational.
