What To Watch For At The World Fastpitch Championship 14U
FloSoftball previews USA Elite Select's World Fastpitch Championship 14U division with Diamond Sports Hotshots, Batbusters and more.
FloSoftball is back for USA Elite Select's World Fastpitch Championship covering 14U competition from July 10-13. The Diamond Sports Hotshots return to compete in the 14U division and will attempt to defend their title. They will have to get passed several top 14U teams from California, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and more.
What To Watch For At The WFC 14U Division
Diamond Sports Hotshots – Nelson
When: Schedule
Nathan Nelson’s Diamond Sports Hotshots return to the WFC at the 14U division. With Oklahoma-commit SJ Geurin in the circle, the Hotshots are always contending for a championship. Fresh off winning the Colorado Sparkler Juniors Power Pool TV bracket championship, it’s clear that the Hotshots have the offense and defense to compete as a first year 14U team. UCLA-commit Kennedy Powell ignites the offense at the leadoff spot and Texas A&M Ashlyn Jones keeps the momentum going in the two-hole. One of the top 2023 players in the class will be Kasidi Pickering who has a pretty swing from the left side and covers centerfield better than most of her peers.
Batbusters Stith
When: Schedule
Katie Stith, daughter of legendary club coach Mike Stith is molding a very talented and competitive 14U Batbusters team. Ailana Agbayani is definitely a top prospect to watch. A triple threat at the plate, Agbayani is also a gifted middle on defense. Another infielder to keep an eye on is Karlie Davison who plays second base and third. Solid at the plate, she drives the ball with power and is very clutch in pressure situations. In the outfield, Abby Dayton is a spark plug and raises the bar of excellence for the Batbusters on offense and defense.
Tennessee Mojo 2021
When: Schedule
Brooks Cherry’s Tennessee Mojo 2021 team finished in the top five in every tournament this summer. After winning the Champions Elite Showcase and a runner-up finish at the Sparkler, it’s clear that Mojo continues to get better with each tournament. Auburn-commit Aubrey Barnhart is the big bat in the lineup to watch at WFC but it will be Cayden Baker who sets the table. After hitting five home runs in Colorado, McKenzie Vaughan will be one of the top hitters to watch who will likely hit behind Barnhart. In the circle, Emerson Aiken will likely get the ball in big games mixing her fastball, change, drop, curve and rise.
Impact Gold National – Vaughn
When: Schedule
Touted as one of the top Texas clubs, Impact Gold National – Vaughn won the Tulsa Elite Invitational. This team can swing the bat extremely well and Texas A&M-commits Koko Wooley and Bri Ellis are leading the charge. Wooley jumpstarts the offense in the leadoff role. With home runs in the double digits, Ellis crushes the ball. One player to watch for is Olivia Johnson who is rock solid behind the plate and swinging the bat really well this summer. More info
DeMarini Aces

Ryan Taylor’s DeMarini Aces have emerged as one of a rising 14U club this summer. The Camenzind sisters are tearing it up in every aspect of the game. Hannah Camenzind bats lefty in the heart of the order leading the team in home runs and RBIs. Her sister Lauren Camenzind is leading the team in average and is second in home runs and RBIs playing infield. If you’re looking for the most versatile athlete on the field, watch for Florida State-commit Katie Brooks who will move from middle infield to pitcher without skipping a beat. In the circle, Oklahoma State-commit Tatum Clopton will spin the ball and attack the strike zone.
CA Breeze
When: Schedule
California Breeze Birch is a Sacramento-based team coached by former Oklahoma Sooner pitcher Jennifer Birch (Sherman). With three PAC-12 commits, Caroline Evans lefty pitcher (UTAH), Jenna Birch pitcher/infielder (Oregon St.) and Jayla Castro catcher/outfielder (UCLA), Breeze have emerged as one of the premier 14U teams.
Diamond Sports Hotshots - Falterman
When: Schedule
Why: Troy Falterman has assembled a very talented blend of Texas and Louisiana athletes. Starting with the best catcher in the 2022 class, Maci Bergeron commands the defense behind the dish. Bergeron and ace Erna Carlin both have experience in winning a 12U PGF Premier Championship. KK Esparza will another top 20 prospect to watch for the Hotshots.
Texas Blaze Futures
When: Schedule
Why: Fast, aggressive, and athletic, the Texas Blaze Futures will be a fun group to watch. Des Rodriguez is the type of player you can’t stop watching because she constantly impacts the game on the field and in the box. One of the fastest players to watch will be Keyannah Chavez, who steals nearly every base. The big bat to watch for is Elizabeth Joyner, who has driven in the majority of runs for the Blaze.
Gametime Stars 2021
When: Schedule
We’ve seen a couple of Gametime Stars alum played a huge role in the WCWS in the last week with Cayleigh Clifton and Sydney Sherrill. Be sure to watch Texas Tech-commit Kaylee Lyon at shortstop who hits for power and average. Lyon’s counterpart second baseman Malorey Outon compliments Lyon up the middle making for one of the top pairs to watch. On the mound, Jade Sanders will lead the way leading the team in wins and ERA. The strikeout pitcher is also a terrific hitter batting nearly .500.
Athletics Madden-Gold
When: Schedule
The captain of the team Peyton Norvelle is a stud behind the dish and can also play middle. Her presence and leadership are respected by all through her steady contributions on offense and defense. If you want to see a middle flash some leather look no further than Bella Cabral who has excellent footwork, glove work, range and a solid arm. In the outfield, Ieesha Christian will be the speedster to watch on the bases and on defense.
Iowa Premier Black - KC
When: Schedule
Don’t sleep on Iowa Premier Black - KC. Hurler Jayme Scheck is an absolute stud who is arguably one of the best 2021 pitchers in Iowa. On offense, be sure to watch McKenna Rebarcak who stands 6-foot leading the team in home runs. Rebarcak has been a popular catching prospect. Behind the dish, she’s been working with Iowa Premier alum Kendyl Lindaman. Be sure to keep an eye on Giana Lara who is a raw talent playing mostly third and shortstop.
