FloSoftball recognizes the top athletes from 2019 PGF 16U Platinum Nationals with the help of SoCal Sidelines Carlos Arias. 

These athletes displayed tremendous grit, determination, and consistency throughout the toughest week of summer.

MVP PITCHER


Taylor Caudill, Monarchs Gold

The Boise State-committed 2020 pitcher was "lights out and dominant" pitching 48.2 of the 56 innings in bracket play and finishing with a 0.04 ERA to lead the Monarchs to the PGF 16U Platinum national championship.

Ree Rudd, Monarchs Gold

The North Dakota State-committed 2020 C had several key hits during the Monarchs' run and her arm prevented runners from stealing. She finished with a .364 batting average and two home runs.

Ali Steinker, Monarchs Gold

The uncommitted 2020 3B played flawless defense and delivered the power in the clean-up spot with a .545 batting average in bracket play.

JJ Nguyen, Monarchs Gold

The Western Michigan-committed 2020 OF was the catalyst for the Monarchs' offense from the leadoff spot, batting .308. She also caught everything hit her way in center field and didn't commit an error.


Katie Stewart, Orland Park A's Premier

The uncommitted 2023 SS/C batted .452 with a .528 on-base percentage with three doubles, a triple, two homers, 10 runs scored and 12 RBIs to lead the A's to a runner-up finish at PGF.


Abby Bukantis, Orland Park A's Premier

The uncommitted 2021 pitcher went 5-1 with a 1.03 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 40.2 innings for the Orland Park A's.


Cassie Metzger, Orland Park A's Premier

The uncommitted 2021 pitcher went 4-0 with a 0.31 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 22.2 innings to lead the Orland Park A's.

Kaci Imus, Washington Ladyhawks-Breer

The Highline College-committed 2020 pitcher went 4-1 with a 1.00 ERA in 28 innings to lead the Ladyhawks to a tie for third place at PGF.

Kiley Hubby, Washington Ladyhawks-Breer

The uncommitted 2020 C/1B, who is also a nationally-ranked wrestler, batted .636, going 14 for 22 with a grand slam, two doubles and two stolen bases for the Ladyhawks.

Madyson Jennings, Georgia Impact-O'Neal

The uncommitted 2021 C played error-free defense behind the plate in eight bracket games and she batted .440 with three homers and eight RBIs.

Taylor Tinsley, Georgia Impact-O'Neal

The uncommitted 2022 pitcher was dominant in six appearances at PGF, finishing with a 0.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 26.1 innings.

Kaiya Yonamine, Ohana Tigers-Halleen

The uncommitted 2020 pitcher struck out 23 and walked six in 40 innings, finishing with a 2.27 ERA and she hit .350 for the Ohana Tigers, who finished tied for fifth place at PGF.

Samiya Jones, Ohana Tigers-Halleen

The uncommitted 2021 DH/1B had several key hits in bracket play, batting .318 with six runs scored and she knocked a home run out of Deanna Manning Stadium, which has 220-feet fences.

Claire Raley, Central Cal Dirtdogs-Kubo

The uncommitted 2021 3B/SS hit .481 with a .741 slugging percentage, 1.222 OPS, four doubles, a homer, and five RBIs as the Dirtdogs finished tied for fifth place at PGF.

Taryn Irigoyen, Central Cal Dirtdogs-Kubo

The uncommitted 2021 2B hit .379 with a double and eight RBIs for the Dirtdogs.

Kaitlyn Smithey, Birmingham Thunderbolts-Barron

The uncommitted 2021 3B/C hit .450 with a homer, three doubles, and five RBIs to help the Bolts finish tied for seventh place at PGF.

Kennedy Barron, Birmingham Thunderbolts-Barron

The Duke-committed P/UT went 5-1 with a 1.17 ERA in 42 innings of work and she batted .325 with six RBIs.

Bailey Taylor, So Cal Athletics-Berouty

The Fairfield-committed 2020 southpaw went 5-1 with a 1.17 ERA and 24 strikeouts to help the So Cal A's finish tied for seventh place at PGF.

Sara Luna, So Cal Athletics-Berouty

The uncommitted 2021 CF hit .448 with five stolen bases and five RBIs, throwing out runners at home plate and first base from the outfield for the So Cal A's.

The uncommitted 2022 2B batted .562 with a double, a triple, four stolen bases, five RBIs and nine runs scored as the Batbusters finished tied for ninth place at PGF.

The uncommitted 2021 SS hit .448 with two doubles, a homer, three stolen bases, five RBIs and 12 runs scored for the Batbusters.

Abygail Vieira, OC Tigers-Lastrapes

The uncommitted 2021 C/1B batted .435 with a .517 on-base percentage, eight runs scored and nine RBIs as the OC Tigers finished tied for ninth place at PGF.

Logan Turner, Top Gun Academy, Turner

The uncommitted 2022 MIF hit .667 with a double, three runs scored, a .800 on-base percentage and no errors at second base.
